‘Testimony’ is to share with others about your own experience with God when you believe in Him and follow His Word. There is a need for personal testimonies in worship services to make the worship more graceful, that give our lives and spirits to God. There are many kinds of personal testimonies. You can share how you came to believe in Jesus as your Lord-Testimony of Salvation. Prayer testimony is about your prayer answered when you experience God’s will and His answer during prayer. Baptism testimony is a testimony that was shared during the baptism, sharing your own thanksgiving and affirmation. Life Bible study series testimony is sharing about what you realized and how you have changed throughout bible studies, like Life Bible studies. You may choose to share what you realized when you meditate over the Words of God- this is called meditation testimony. Mission and evangelism testimony is sharing what you experience during your evangelism or mission field. Healing testimony is the sharing of your healing from physical and/or mental illness, like depression. Commitment testimony is shared as you are determined to commit you into ministry. Also, you can share how God guided throughout your life during the faith journey testimony. That means we experience much grace, numerous works of the Holy Spirit, and God’s guidance as we believe in Jesus wholeheartedly.
Jesus even told us to share our own testimony because it may witness the grace of God, instead of keeping grace only to ourselves. (Mark 5:19 Go home to your friends and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you.) You may also have your own experience to share about how God worked in your various life situations, no matter how big or small. It is better to share what you experienced as you realize His guidance and Words, not necessary big miracles. This is the reason why I am going to ask our brothers and sisters to share their own personal testimony. If asked, please share your personal testimony with other vision families during the Sunday worship service with thanksgiving. Some told me that they can’t do it because they are shy in nature, or it is not a big deal to talk about. But one thing to remember is that personal testimony is not about us; it is all about giving thanks to God with a humble heart. A shared personal testimony comes with grace to those who attend the worship service- this is a huge upside. Second, we can understand each other a little more. Third, it is our own opportunity to give thanks to God and His Grace as we look back on our lives. Fourth. We may find a testimony that is yet to be known in the church. The best way to participate is to volunteer to share personal testimony. Please share your personal testimony if asked by a pastor or a shepherd; this will be a grace to you and for the church. Please glorify God by sharing your personal testimony.
