우리들 이야기

가정교회에서 제공하는 성경 공부는 약 20개가 넘지만, 그 첫 단계는 [생명의 삶]입니다. 한국어 큐티 교재인 생명의 삶과는 다릅니다.  이 과정은 예수님을 믿고 새로운 영적인 생명을 받은 그리스도인이 기본적으로 알아야 할 성경의 배경지식을 배우고, 신앙의 기본 개념들을 배우고, 구원의 확신을 갖도록 하는 목적으로 가정교회를 시작한 최영기 목사님이 만든 공부입니다. 교회에서 자주 사용하는 개념들인 교회, 하나님, 믿음, 신앙, 죄, 천국, 영생 등과 관련해서 3-4개의 성경구절을 통해 쉽고 체계적으로 12주간 배우는 과정이라서, 신학교 교수님이 잘 정리된 ‘조직신학’과 같다고 합니다. 교회를 오래 다닌 분들은 강의를 들으면 대부분 아는 내용 같아 보이지만, 이렇게 전체를 잘 정리한 공부는 없다고 합니다. 이 [생명의 삶]이 중요한 이유는 여러 가지가 있습니다. 첫째, 담임목사가 강의를 하여 전교인과 영적인 교제를 하게 되고, 교인들의 영적인 상황을 알 수 있어 좋습니다. 또한 담임목사의 신앙간증 전체를 듣고, 참석자들의 신앙간증을 들으면서 영적인 친밀감을 갖습니다. 

둘째, 가정교회에 대해 짧은 시간에 요약해서 가정교회를 잘 모르는 분이 쉽게 이해할 수 있게 합니다. 셋째, 교회를 오래 다닌 분들도 체계적인 성경 공부를 통해 자신의 신앙을 점검하고 구원의 확신을 가질 수 있게 됩니다. 넷째, 목장에 속한 분들과만 교제하던 교인들이 이 공부에 참여하여 다른 목장에 소속된 형제자매들과 같이 기도하며 식사하며 친해지는 기회입니다. 다섯째, 주중에 한 번 더 교회에 와서 말씀을 배우고, 돌아가면서 음식을 준비해서 나눔으로 섬김과 희생과 순종을 연습할 수 있습니다. 여섯째, 성경을 몇 권 읽고 요약하는 과제를 통해서 성경과 더욱 친밀해지는 시간을 가지게 됩니다. 일곱째, 약 30분 정도 기도하는 성령체험 시간을 통해서 죄를 깊이 회개하고, 마음의 평화를 경험하고, 그리스도인들 안에 계시는 성령님을 실제로 경험하는 기회가 있습니다. 이렇게 좋은 생명의 삶 공부는 1년에 3번 제공됩니다. 1월부터 3개월간 봄학기, 6월부터 3개월간 여름학기, 그리고 8월부터 3개월간 가을학기가 제공됩니다. 이렇게 중요하기 때문에 비전교회에 정식 회원교인이 되기 위해서는 필수 과목입니다. 많은 비전교회 식구들이 이 강의를 들었지만, 수강한 지 5년이 지났다면 다시 참여할 것을 권합니다.

House churches offer over 20 Bible study series, but 1st step is the [Living Life] Bible study. This differs from the Korean QT book that shares the same title. Founder of HC Rev Youngki Chai developed this course so that those who started believing in Jesus, Christians who received a spiritual life, may learn Biblical fundamentals and basic concepts of the faith so that they may have an assurance of salvation. Many shared that this course is like a well-organized ‘systematic theology’ formulated by a theological professor, as it teaches the common church concepts of church, God, belief, faith, sin, heaven, and eternal life in an easy and organized manner for 12 weeks, utilizing 3-4 Bible verses. Items in the course appear to be the same old lecture for long-time churchgoers when they attend the course. However, all shared that the course organized Biblical foundations well holistically. There are several reasons why [Living Life] Bible study is important. First, the course is taught by the senior pastor, hence it allows spiritual fellowship between the pastor and church members, enabling the pastor to know what is going on with church members spiritually. Also, the course enables spiritual intimacy between participants as both the senior pastor and attendees share their life story and personal testimony. Second, the course facilitates understanding of House Church in a shorter time and in a condensed manner to those who are not quite familiar with HC. 

Third, the course offers an opportunity to assess the status of one's current faith and reassure the salvation of long-time churchgoers as they study the Bible in an organized fashion. Fourth, the course offers an opportunity for fellowship to those who only had fellowship within their own HC members, as they pray and have meals together with other participants from other HCs. Fifth, the course offers an opportunity to practice serving, sacrificing, and obeying as they come to church one additional day in a week to learn the words of God and to prepare/share meals in turns. Sixth, the course makes attendees get more familiar with the Bible as they complete the assignment of Bible reading and summary. Seventh, our 30-minute prayer session of Holy Spirit encounter allows the attendees to confess their sins deeply, experience inner peace, and experience the Holy Spirit who resides in Christians. We offer this great Living Life Bible study 3 times a year. The spring trimester is from January to March. The summer trimester starts in June for 3 months. And the Fall trimester is about 3 months starting in August. This is a requirement to become an official member of the church because this Bible study is that important. I know many of our Vision church family members attended the course. However, if it has been more than 5 years since you finished the course, I encourage you to attend again.
