우리들 이야기

저는 담임목회를 한 지가 15년째 입니다. 비전교회에서는 2년이 되고 있습니다. 담임목사가 된후에 느낀 것이 있습니다. 담임목회를 잘 한다는 것은 설교를 잘 하고, 성경을 잘 가르치고, 기도를 많이 하고, 심방을 잘 하는 것이 중요합니다. 그런데 이 보다 더 중요한 것은 교회 식구들과의 소통이라는 것 입니다. 왜냐면 담임목사는 한 개인이 아니라 교회라는 신앙 공동체를 하나님의 뜻대로 인도하고 섬기는 자이기 때문입니다. 그래서 그 방향을 잘 잡는 것도 중요하고, 열심히 하는 것도 중요하지만, 교회 식구들이 모두 한 마음이 되어 하나님께서 원하시는 한 방향으로 잘 갈 수 있도록 해야 합니다. 제가 소통을 하는 방법으로는 개인적인 대화, 설교, 각종 기도회, 예배 중에 광고, 성경공부, 바룩의 서재 등이 있습니다. 그런데 나는 최선을 다 한다고 생각했지만, 최근에 [모든 민족을 위한 교회]라는 방향을 말하고 준비하는데 있어서 충분한 소통을 하지 못한 것 같은 생각이 듭니다. 왜 그럴까를 생각해 보니, 두 가지 이유 때문인 것 같습니다. 

첫번째는 모든 민족을 위한 교회는 성경에 하라고 한 것이기 때문에 당연히 모든 비전 식구들이 이해할 것이라는 추측을 했던 것 같습니다. 두 번째는 너무 오랫동안 해야 한다고 생각했던 일이고 이미 2022년 비전교회 총 목자 모임에서 밝혔기 때문에 비전 식구들도 다 알 것이라고 생각했습니다. 그런데, 뜻 밖에 호주 전도팀을 통해서 문이 열리면서, 조급하게 예배 중에 그에 대해 언급을 한 것 같습니다. 사실 호주에 전도훈련을 가기 전까지는 어떻게 진행해야 할지에 대한 분명한 그림이 없었기 때문에 어떤 변화가 있을 것이라는 것을 설명하지도 못했습니다. 호주 호산나 교회를 방문하는 것을 통해, 좀더 비전 식구들이 당황하지 않도록 노방 전도나 모든 민족을 위한 교회 등에 대해서 충분히 이해할 수 있도록 점차적으로 진행해야 하는 것을 깨닫게 되었습니다. 많은 설명과 많은 기도를 하고, 그리고 더 많이 이해할 수 있는 기회를 만들어서 진행하려고 합니다.  

I have been serving as a senior pastor for over 15 years, among which 2 years with Vision Church. This is what I realized after I was anointed as a senior pastor of the church. It is important to preach, teach the Bible, and visit church members. But what counts more is how to communicate with Church family members because the senior pastor leads and serves the church community of faith in the way of God. So it is important to guide the community in the right direction more so than working hard. The senior pastor must unite Church Family members in one cause, and then lead the community in the way God wants. I usually communicate via 1:1 conversation, sermon, prayer meetings, announcements during Services, Bible Study, and/or columns. Despite I think I am trying my best, it came to my mind that I should have communicated and planned better when I introduced our vision for [Church for All Nations]. Two things came to my mind when I tried to find out why. 

First, I assumed that all my vision church members would naturally welcome the Church of All Nations since it is based on the Bible. Second, I guessed that all of my church family members knew about it since we had planned for a long time and I made the announcement during the 2022 Vision Church HC leaders' General meeting. However, since the Australian Evangelism Team opportunity came across, so I think I have rushed to notify on Church of All Nations during the service. Honestly, we didn't have many details on how we executed prior to attending Australian City Evangelism Training, hence I couldn't explain well enough what changes we might face. After visiting Hosanna Church of Christ in Melbourne, I realized that we must execute gradually in phases of evangelism and church of all Nations, allowing our church family members to fully understand so that our church family members don't feel uneasy. I will explain more and pray more about this cause. Also, I am planning many venues for our church family members to understand more.
