우리들 이야기

비전교회의 방향은 동일하게 신약 교회를 회복하는 가정교회입니다. 2024년부터 섬기는 대상을 한국 사람뿐만 아니라 모든 민족으로 확대한 것입니다. 그래서 우리교회의 새로운 비전은 “모든 민족을 영혼 구원하여 제자를 만드는 가정교회”입니다. 그렇게 하기 위해서는 한국 사람만을 대상으로 했던 마음가짐과 예배내용과 문서들과 목장모임을 변화할 뿐 아니라, 무엇보다 우리의 생각의 틀을 조금더 확대해야 합니다. 하나님의 마음은 잃어 버린 양과 집을 떠난 둘째 아들(탕자)에게 있는데, 그들은 모든 나라와 모든 민족에게 있다는 생각의 전환이 필요한 것입니다. 우리 교회가 하고 있는 것과 똑 같은 상황이나 예가 없기 때문에 정확히 여러분에게 이런 일이 일어날 것이라고 말하는 것은 힘듭니다. 하지만 무엇을 어떻게 노력할 것인지에 대해서 계속해서 소통을 할 것입니다. 즉, 2026년이 목표는 “소통”입니다. 이번에 목자면담에서 좋은 의견들이 많아서 내년에는 이렇게 해보려고 합니다. 첫째, 모든 민족을 위한 가정교회에 대해서 더 잘 이해할 수 있도록 설교와 칼럼과 세미나와 말씀잔치를 통해 비전교회 식구들에게 소통을 계속할 것입니다.  

가을에는 오래곤의 빌리지 교회에서 다민족 교회를 담임하고 이 분야에서 박사 학위를 가져 신학적이고 실제적으로 잘 아는 최규진 목사님을 초청해서 말씀잔치를 할 것입니다. 빌리지 교회는 70년이 넘는 역사의 미국인 교회지만, 한 목사님이 다민족교회를 선포하고 지금까지 잘 성장하고 있습니다. 최목사님은 한인 1.5세로 다민족교회를 공부하다 그 교회의 담임목사가 되었습니다. 둘째, 예배에 다민족이 더 참여할 수 있도록 노력할 것입니다. 모두가 이름표를 달고, 다민족 형제 자매들이 간증을 하고, 예배 순서를 맡아 참여하고, 잘 되고 있는 다민족 목장의 성공사례를 알려주는 것입니다. 호주의 호산나 교회는 예배 때에 찬양팀이 영어와 한국어를 동시에 부릅니다. 처음엔 저도 어색했는데 신기하게 한국어가 편한 제게 한국어 가사가 들리고 함께 부를 수 있었습니다. 셋째, 스페인어, 중국어, 포루트갈어를 하는 목장을 한 개 이상을 시작하게 하고, 언어별 친교모임(fellowship)을 할 수 있도록 기도하고 노력할 것입니다. 통역을 하며 모임이 가능하겠지만, 깊은 나눔은 각자의 모국어로 하는 것이 좋을 것입니다. 기도하고 동역합시다! 

Vision Church’s vision is the same, the House church that restores the New Testament Church. We serve not only Koreans but have extended to all nations since 2024. Our church’s new vision is “HC that saves souls and makes them disciples of all nations.” To do so, we must shift from Korean only mindset, worship contents, and documentation. Most of all, we must think outside of the box. God’s heart is with the lost sheep and prodigal son. Just like this, we must shift our paradigm that this is applicable to all nations. It is hard to know what will happen next, since we don’t have a good benchmark for what we are doing right now. But we will stay transparent about what and how we are doing for this effort. Our goal for 2026 is "communication." So, this is what we are about to try next year, these ideas brought up during on 1 on 1 HC leaders meeting. First, we will continue to communicate to Vision Church family members throughout Sunday sermons, weekly column, and seminars to enhance understanding of HC for all nations. We will host Rev. Paul Choi of Village Church, OR as a guest speaker for the Biblical Festival in the fall. Rev. Choi has PH. D in this field of all nation ministry and is a subject matter expert. 

The Village church started as an All American Church 70 years ago, one pastor declared the church to be the church of all nations, and they have been growing well. Rev. Choi is a 1.5 generation Korean-American. He became a senior pastor of Village church while he was studying for all nations. Second, we try our best so that people from diverse national backgrounds may join the worship service better. The plan is that everyone wears their name tag. Also, we are planning to have brothers and sisters from different national backgrounds share their personal testimony. The plan includes sisters and brothers from different national backgrounds partake during the service. And we will share successful cases from HC for all nations. The Praise team of Melbourne Hosanna Church of Christ in Australia sings in both Korean and English during worship services. I didn’t feel comfortable in the beginning, but surprisingly, I could listen and sing along with the praise team despite being more comfortable with Korean. Third, we are planning to start at least one HC for Spanish, Chinese, and Portuguese speaking congregations. At the same time, we will pray and try to have fellowship with those languages. We could do the meeting by using translation services; however, it would be better to share at a deeper level in respective native tongues. Let’s pray and participate!
