우리들 이야기

우리 교회에는 아직 예수님을 구원자로 믿지 않는 분들이 많이 출석하고 있습니다. 그래서 최대한 쉽고 구체적으로 기독교나 성경에서 사용하는 용어들을 설명해 드립니다. 예를 들어, ‘아멘’이란 말을 교회에서 매주 예배 때에 사용하지만, 우리 교회에 정확한 뜻을 모르는 분들을 위해 ‘진실로, 동의합니다, 예’ 이런 뜻이라고 설명해 드리고 있습니다. 그렇게 하는 이유는 제가 전혀 경험하지 않은 다른 종교 행사에 참여했다고 상상해보니, 사용하는 말들이 가장 거리감을 느끼게 할 것 같았기 때문입니다. 또한 가정교회는 믿음이 없거나 약한 분들을 배려하는 것을 중요하게 생각하기 때문입니다. 그래서 이번 주일에 하게 될 [공동의회]에 대해 설명을 드립니다. 교회의 공동의회는 세상에서 사용하는 ‘총회’와 비슷합니다. 학교로 비유하자면 학생총회, 주식을 투자한 사람들로 비유하자면 주주총회와 비슷합니다. 비전교회의 공동의회는 누구나 참여가능하되, 의견은 오직 새가족/생명의 삶을 마치고 세례를 받은 정회원만 가능합니다. 

내용은 먼저 기도하고 말씀을 묵상하는 시간을 가지는데, 우리교회는 모든 모임에는 기도와 말씀으로 먼저 시작하여 그 모임과 회의에 계신 하나님의 뜻을 찾는 것이 모임의 목적임을 기억하는 것입니다. 그리고 2025년의 교회 식구들이 헌금하고 건물을 랜트로 주어서 들어온 수입이 얼마이고, 그것을 어떻게 사용했는지, 또 이어서 2026년 예산에 대해서 재정부의 장구현 장로님이 설명해 드립니다. 단, 우리교회의 특징은 헌금과 사용한 지출 모두가 하나님의 은혜로 생각하기 때문에 교회 살림을 살았던 것에 대한 간증을 추가해서 합니다. 장로님이 어린이부 kingdom keepers에서 오랫동안 설교를 했기 때문에, ‘하나님은 언제나 좋으십니다.’라는 구호를 한 두번 정도 합니다. 이 또한 다른 교회에서는 찾아 볼수 없는 은혜롭고 즐거운 장면입니다. 혹시 질문이 있는 분은 미리 게시판에 비치한 [재정질문지]에 질문을 적어서 재정부에 전달하면 이 때에 답을 합니다. 또 다른 비전교회의 회의의 특징은 ‘아니오’가 없습니다. 재정을 다 승인하기로 동의가 되면 박수로서 재정과 예산에 대한 보고가 끝납니다. 결산과 예산이 끝나면 기도로서 마칩니다. 이런 경건한 특징으로 인해 비전교회는 일반 회의처럼 잘난척하거나 자신을 주장하거나 다투는 것이 없습니다.    

Many of those who don’t believe in Jesus as our savior attend our church. That is why I try to explain those Christian and Biblical terms in the easiest and applicable way possible. For example, we use ‘Amen’ in every Sunday worship service, and I explain the meaning of the term ‘Truly I agree’ or ‘Yes’ for those who don’t know the exact meaning of the word. I picture myself as if I am attending other religious services. I may feel distant if I don’t understand the terms they would use during their respective religious services. That is why I try to explain our words and terms. Also, one of the important things to consider in HC is to take care of those who have no or little faith. That’s why I would like to take time to explain to the [General Assembly] that we are about to convene this Sunday. This is the same as a General Assembly/stakeholder Meeting in a common term. It is like a Student Assembly meeting for the school or a shareholder meeting for the public corporation. All members are welcome to join Vision Church General Assembly; however, only members who are baptized after completion of the newcomer and Living Life bible study are allowed to speak. The meeting starts off with prayer and meditation; this is to reaffirm that our first goal is to find the will of God in the meeting and discussion. 

After that, the budget committee Elder Mike Chang reports on the church's financials in 2025, especially our inflow of funds from church member offerings and our building rental. And then reports on expenses throughout the year 2025. After that, Elder. Chang will continue our planned 2026 budget. But we do believe all of those offerings and expenditures are a grace of God, and we add our testimony on how we have carried out our ministry in 2025. That is something different in our general assembly meeting. Elder Chang served in Kingdom Keeper, the Sunday school ministry, with sermons for a long time. He calls out the motto “God is Always Good!” about twice. This is a gracious and delightful scene that we can’t find in any other church. Those who have any questions for our budget committee, please use our [Financial Questionnaire] on our information board before the meeting, so that those questions can be answered during the general assembly. Another difference in our church is that we don’t have ‘no’ during our meeting. Once we agree and approve the budget in unison, we give a round of applause to conclude our financial and budget report. Upon the conclusion of the financial and budget report, we end the meeting with prayer. Because of these Holy differences, our Vision church doesn't have anyone who tries to stand out, speak up, or argue over the budget, unlike some other churches.
