우리들 이야기

우리교회의 가장 중요한 사역은 가정교회(가정에서 모이는 교회)입니다. 가정교회에서 또한 중요한 리더로 헌신한 분을 목자라고 하는데, 목장의 영적 리더로서 가정교회를 위해 기도하고 목양의 책임을 지는 사역을 합니다. 목자(부부)가 목장 사역을 위해 많은 에너지를 써야하고, 영적 공급자의 역할을 해야 하기 때문에, 위로와 격려를 받는 또 다른 모임이 필요합니다. 그래서 목자들이 한 달에 한 번씩 모이는 목장을 초원이라고 합니다. 그 초원에 속한 목자(부부)를 섬기는 리더를 초원지기라고 합니다. 작년11월부터 시작한 목자부부 면담을 하는 과정에서 4분의 초원지기와 몇 분의 목자님들이 초원을 재구성 해주기를 요청하였습니다. 이유는 오랫동안 같은 초원에 있었기 때문에 다른 목자(부부)와도 기도하고 교제하고 싶다는 것, 어떤 초원은 모임이 활성화 되지 않았다는 것, 다른 나이의 목자(부부)와도 동역하고 싶다는 것 등의 이유였습니다. 또한 저도 개인적으로 초원의 일부 혹은 전체의 재구성의 필요를 느끼고 있었습니다. 

전체 목장이 이제 50개인데, 무엇보다 청년 목장들이 활성화 되고 헌신자가 생겨서 2년 전에 6개 청년목장이 2월 1일부로 13개가 되었습니다. 또 다른 이유는 한국어가 아닌 영어나 중국어로 모이는 다민족 목장이 8개가 있기 때문에 서로 정보도 나누고 격려하는 초원이 필요해 졌기 때문입니다.  너무 많은 목자(부부)가 초원에 모이면 나눔의 깊이도 약해지는 점도 있었습니다. 결국, 지난 총목자 모임에서 2-3월에는 초원을 전체적으로 재구성하기로 하였습니다. 현재 8개 초원인데,  청년 초원과 다민족 초원을 추가하여 총 10개 초원으로 만들려고 합니다. 그러면 한 초원에 대략 4-5목장이 포함되겠지요. 물론, 상황에 따라 청년 목자가 장년 초원에 갈 수도 있고, 다민족 목자가 장년 초원에 소속 될 수도 있습니다. 초원을 정하는 방법은 10명의 초원지기를 공지하고, 목자는 그 중에 1순위, 2순위, 3순위로 선택하게 합니다. 그 중에 새로 사역을 시작한 목자들에게 가장 우선순위를 두어 선택한 초원에 소속되도록 배려할 것입니다. 그 다음부터 순차적으로 가능하면 1순위로 선택한 초원에 소속 될 수 있도록 조정하게 됩니다. 이것은 가정교회에서 추천하는 방법입니다. 재조정의 목적은 서로 격려하고, 기도하고, 같은 동역자로 성공하도록 돕기위함입니다. 

The most important ministry of our church is HC (church gathers at one's own home). We call shepherds those who are dedicated to HC. Shepherds are spiritual leaders, responsible for praying and nurturing HC members. Shepherds (or leader couple) ministry requires a lot of energy to provide spiritual needs for HC members. Hence HC leader needs another support channel to be encouraged and comforted. There are monthly gatherings for shepherds, called “Village meeting(VM).” We call the Village leaders for those who serve these VMs. Some of the shepherds and four of the VM leaders asked me to reorganize their own groups during my 1:1 session with shepherds (and shepherd couples) that started back in November of last year. The rationale behind this is that they would like to build a relationship and pray with other shepherds (and shepherd couples) as they have been spending a long time together. Some shared that some VMs are not as active as others. Some shared that they would like to do their ministry together with different age group shepherds/couples. I also felt the need for reorganization for some or all parts of VM. There are 50 HCs total in our church. 

Especially our young adult HCs became more active with more dedicated shepherds, hence growing in their number from 6 (2 years ago) to 12 HCs as if February 1. Also, we need another VM to share information and encourage each other for our eight non-Korean speaking multi-national HCs that uses either Chinese or English during their meeting. Depth and quality of personal sharing during a Village Meeting may weaken if there are too many shepherds (leader couples) gathering together. So we decided to reorganize our VMs in February-March during our last all HC leaders meeting. We plan to make 10 VMs, adding one young adult group and a multi-national HC to our existing 8 VMs. Each Village group would have 4-5 HCs. Some young adult HC leaders may join the older age group, and multi-national HC leaders join the older age group if needed. We will announce 10 VM leaders, and every HC leaders choose 1st, 2nd, and third choice of their VM leader. We plan to assign priorities to those who are newly committed to shepherd so that they may join a VM of their choice. We will coordinate and try our best so that HC leaders may join the VM group of their 1st choice as much as possible. HC recommends this method. The purpose of this re-organization is to encourage and pray together so that all shepherds are successful in our ministry together.
