우리들 이야기

외국이나 다른 문화에 가서 하나님의 나라를 전하는 것을 선교라고 하고, 그 귀한 일을 하는 분을 선교사님이라고 합니다. 그래서 많은 선교사님들은 자신의 직업, 고향, 가족을 떠나 언어와 문화가 다른 곳에 가서 희생적으로 예수님을 증거하고 있습니다. 실제 이스라엘을 제외한 모든 나라에 복음이 증거된 이유는 선교가 있었기 때문입니다.  신약성경적인 교회를 회복하려고 노력하는 가정교회는 선교를 위해 많은 기도와 헌금을 합니다. 그래서 우리 교회의 모든 목장 이름이 선교지(도시나 나라)입니다. 목장 이름을 부를 때마다, 그 선교사님과 선교지를 하나님께 올려 드리며 중보기도하는 마음을 갖게 되지요.  지난달 8일 예배 후에 [선교개발위원회]가 있었습니다.  선교개발위원회는 각 목장에서 한명씩 선교사님과 연락하여 기도제목을 받아 선교소식을 목장모임에서 알려주는 사람, 혹은 각 목장의 대표 한명이 참석하여 최근의 선교에 대한 소식을 듣고 같이 기도하는 시간입니다. 이 모임에서 설교하고 기도 제목을 나누는 사역자는 여영모 간사입니다.  

한 주 후에 저와 형제가 잠깐 이야기를 나누게 되었는데, 여러 목장에서 섬기는 선교사님이 연락이 안 된다고 합니다. 그래서 선교헌금이 잘 송금되었는지, 현재의 기도 제목이 어떤지, 실제 어떤 사역을 하고 계신지를 알 방법이 없다고 합니다. 선교사님과 목장의 연결은 선교 동역에 있어서 아주 중요합니다. 그런데 이렇게 연락이 안 되면 함께 기도하고 선교헌금을 보내는 데 있어 어려움이 있습니다. 또, 어떤 선교사님은 연세가 많으시거나 사역지를 옮기셨거나 선교사역에서 은퇴를 하셨다고 합니다. 또 개인적으로 저에게 선교사님에게 연락이 안 되어 다른 선교지로 연결해 달라는 요청을 하는 분들도 있습니다. 그래서 이번에 다시 한 번 전체적으로 선교사님께 연락해 보려고 합니다. 실제로 어떤 사역을 하고 계신지, 언제까지 사역을 하실 것인지에 대해 재점검을 할 계획입니다. 물론 어떤 선교지(모슬림 국가나 공산 국가)들은 연락이 쉽지 않고 비밀 언어를 사용해야 해서 쉽지 않은 경우도 있습니다. 사실 어떤 가정교회는 선교헌금을 보내는 기간을 정해서 3년마다 계속 동일한 선교사님을 위해 기도하고 헌금을 할 필요가 있는지 재점검을 한다고 합니다. 이번에 전체 상황을 파악한 후에 선교정책도 재점검하고 의논해서 결정을 하겠습니다. 

We call a mission if we go into a foreign country and share the Kingdom of God. We call Missionaries those who are doing this noble task. That is why many missionaries sacrifice their jobs, hometown, and family and go into places with different languages and cultures to witness Jesus. The mission is the reason why the Gospel spread beyond many countries, except Israel. HCs, which put many efforts to restore the Biblical church, do many prayers and send mission offerings for ministry. That is why all our HC is named after our supporting mission cities or countries. Whenever we call our HC’s name, we give the missionaries and their mission field to God with our hearts of prayer. Last Month on February 8th, we convened a Mission development committee after the service. The Mission Development committee is convened by those who share mission field information during HC meetings and/or representatives from each HC to share information about the mission fields and pray for them. Minister Youngmo Yeo gives sermons and chairs this committee. A week after the committee meeting, the brother and I had a chance to talk. 

He shared that some HCs can’t get hold of their supporting missionaries. So, they can’t find out if their mission offering is well received, if missionaries have any prayer requests, and/or what mission their supporting missionaries are focusing on. It is very important to have a good connection between missionaries and HCs for partnership in the mission. If they can’t have good communication, it is very limited to pray and send mission offerings to the mission field. Some missionaries are well advanced in age, some may change their mission field, and/or some have retired from their duties. Some HC individually asked me if they can change their supporting missionaries since HCs can’t get hold of them. So I am planning to contact all our church-supporting missionaries individually. This is to ask and reevaluate their specific ministries and the duration of the ministry. Some mission fields may pose limitations to communication and encryption during conversation (e.g., Muslim/communist countries, etc). Some HCs re-assess every 3 years if they need to continue with prayer and sending mission offerings to their supporting missionaries. Once I get all the information and reassessment done, we will plan after the discussion.
