우리들 이야기

우리교회는 지금까지 십여년 동안 평신도를 위한 가정교회 세미나(평세)를 섬겼습니다. 평세는 가정교회를 왜 해야 하는지, 신약 성경적인 교회가 어떤 것인지 그림을 그리는 것입니다. 이번에 다른 교회에서 오는 분은 어린이 목장 사역자 세미나에 8명이, 어린이 목장 사역자 강사가 2명, 평세에 46명, 총 56명이 오십니다.  세미나에 드는 모든 예산과 재료는 우리교회가 섬깁니다. 다른 교회를 섬기는 것도 좋지만 우리에게도 어떤 유익과 복이 있는지를 기억하면 더욱 섬김에 기쁨으로 할 수 있을 것입니다. 첫째, 하나님께서 상을 주십니다. 설교 때 많이 반복했던 말 중에, “하나님은 다 보시고, 다 아신다.”가 있습니다. 좋으신 아빠 하나님은 우리의 섬김의 의도와 실천을 다 보시고 다 아셔서 상을 주십니다. 유치원생 아이가 잘한 일에 상을 줄 때는 사탕하나를 주겠지요. 대학생이 잘 한 경우에 훨씬 좋은 아이패드를 주겠지요. 

하나님 나라를 위해 잘 섬기는자는 사탕이나 아이패드와는 비교할 수 없는 상을 천국에서 받을 것입니다. 둘째, 교회가 성숙하는 기회가 됩니다. 평소에는 각자의 다른 목장 사역으로 관심과 에너지가 분산되어 있지만, 이런 세미나를 통해서 온 교회가 함께 기도하고, 격려하고, 감사하고, 힘을 모으고 있기 때문에, 우리가 한 가족이라는 것을 몸으로 느낍니다. 또 일꾼들이 새롭게 세워지고 경험이 쌓입니다. 셋째, 개인적인 영적 성숙에 도움이 됩니다. 작년 평세와 목자 컨퍼런스를 섬길 때에도 ‘숨은 일꾼’들이 많이 나왔습니다. 자신의 시간과 돈을 희생해서 섬기는 기쁨과 보람을 맛보고, 하나님께서 주신 재능인 은사도 발견하는 형제 자매들이 있었지요. 우리 교회만 보는 것이 아니라, 큰 하나님 아버지의 마음으로 미주 전역에 있는 교회를 생각하고 섬기는 기회가 되었습니다. 이런 유익은 섬기지 않는 개인이나 교회는 경험할 수 없는 특권입니다!

 Our church has been serving for HC Seminar for lay leaders for over 10 years. HC Seminar for Lay leaders is designed to teach why we must do House church- and draw the picture of Biblical church based on the New Testament. Eight are attending for Children's HC seminar, 2 guest speakers designated for Children's HC are attending, and 46 are attending for HC seminar for lay leaders- totaling 58 people from different churches are attending this seminar. We are serving this seminar by providing all required budget and resources. To serve other churches is also good for us. But if we know and are reminded of what blessings and benefits are for us, we could serve with greater joy. First, God will reward us. One of the phrases I kept repeating was "God sees all and knows all." Our Good Father God, sees all and knows all of our serving- both intent and how we put it into actions- and gives us rewards. A kindergartener would receive a candy bar for the good work. A college student would receive a way better prize, an iPad or something, for their good work. 

Those who serve well for the kingdom of God will receive a greater reward that cannot even be compared with a candy bar or an iPad. Second, it is an opportunity for our church to mature. Normally, our energy and focus are scattered amongst different HCs and ministries. However, the whole church can come together to pray, encourage, thank, and concentrate our energy throughout the seminar like this. Hence we can feel deep within that we are one family. Also, we will find new workers and accumulate experience. Third, it is beneficial for individual spiritual maturity. we have found many "hidden" workers while serving for the lay leader's HC Seminar and HC Conference for pastors. Many brothers and sisters had joy and rewarding experiences while sacrificing their own time and money. Some brothers and sisters also found talent/gift that God gave to them. It was an opportunity to see all the churches across America, not just our church, with a heart of our Father God. This is a privilege- that those non-serving individuals or churches never can experience!
