우리들 이야기

지난 9월 8-11일까지 달라스 예닮교회(ROCK)에서 [목회자를 위한 가정교회 컨퍼런스(목컨)]가 있었습니다. [목컨]은 가정교회를 어떻게 해야 하는지를 간증, 조모임, 결단의 시간, 삶공부 등을 통해 배우고 다른 분들과 교제하여 재충전을 받는 것으로 매년 봄과 가을에 있습니다.  김인기 파송목사님은 영어권 목회자들과 심포지엄을, 나지혜 전도사님은 [부모의 삶]을 강의하였고, 김종욱 장로님은 목자컨퍼런스와 수련회에 대해 광고했습니다.  1년에 한번은 저도 [경건의 삶]을 강의하는데, 이번엔 저는 조모임 만을 인도해서 편히 다녀왔습니다. 이번에 제가 보고 느낀 것을 몇 가지 나누겠습니다.  첫째, 한 교회는 주일 설교말씀을 묵상하고 실천하기 위해서 전교인에게 주일 예배 설교를 한 번 더 보게 한다고 합니다.  우리교회 예배 영상이 일주일간만 공개되지만, 설교영상만 따로 만들어 목장식구들에게 공유하면 좋을 것 같습니다. 둘째, 어느 교회는 목자 부부에게 한 달에 한 번 이상은 꼭 예배 후에 헌신기도를 하도록 권하고 있다고 합니다. 

예배에 받은 은혜를 잊기 쉽지만, 헌신기도를 함으로 하나님께 더 헌신을 표하게 되고, 담임목사도 그 분을 위해 일주일간 기도하니 유익한 것 같습니다.  셋째, 한 목사님은 목자들이 죄책감이 아니라 성취감으로 사역 하도록 격려한다고 합니다. [목자서약]에도 일주일에 4번이상 목장식구를 위해 기도하고 QT하도록 하는 것은 매일 하지 못해 생기는 죄책감이나 부담보다 4번을 했다는 성취감에 집중하는 것입니다. 넷째, 가정교회가 계속 전세계로 확산되어 국제화가 되고 있다는 것입니다.  국제화 팀이 만들어 지고, 여러 언어와 문화로 계속 가정교회가 실천되고 있다는 소식을 들어 감사했습니다. 다섯째, 이수관 목사님은 목회자들에게 경제적으로 은퇴를 잘 준비하기 위해 집을 사고, 은퇴금을 내고, 건강을 유지하는 등 몇가지 제안을 했는데, 저도 조금씩 미리 준비해야 겠다는 생각을 했습니다. 여섯번째, [확신의 삶] 성경공부가 많이 업데이트 된 것입니다. 그래서 새로 임명받은 목자부터 가르치려고 합니다.  일곱번째는 침례탕에 대한 생각입니다. 한국에서는 장로교도 침례를 주기 시작했다고 합니다. 성경에서 세례는 사실 물에 몸을 담그는 침례이기 때문에 더욱 은혜가 되고 실감이나고 성경적이라 할 수 있습니다.  

Resemblance-Christ Korean Church (ROCK) hosted [HC Conference for Ministers] last week, from September 8-11. Twice a year (in the spring and the fall), HC Conference for Ministers is held to share lessons learned to make HC better through individual testimonies, group sessions, resolution times, and Life Bible study series. Additionally, the HC conference for Ministers aims to foster relationships with other HC ministers, allowing them to recharge during the conference. Rev John Kim hosted a symposium with English-speaking ministers. Our Pastor Jeanie Kim taught [Parents Life]. Our Elder Jong Kim gave an announcement about the HC leaders' conference and a retreat. Once a year, I teach a [Transforming Life], however, this conference was easier for me since I only led the group session. Let me share what I learned during this conference. First, one church pastor shared that they encouraged their church members to watch Sunday sermons again so that they may think it over and put the message into practice. Our worship service videos are posted on our website for a week, but it would be better for us to make Sunday sermon videos separately and share them with HC family members. Second, one pastor shared with me that they recommend their HC leader couples to come up to the podium during the prayer of commitment time at least once a month. 

It is very easy to forget the grace we receive during worship, but we can be more committed to God by praying for commitment. At the same time, the senior pastor can also pray for them. It is beneficial for all. Third, one pastor shared that he encourages his HC leaders to do their ministry with a sense of achievement, not guilt. His message was to focus on the achievements that you accomplished, such as praying and having QT at least 4 times a week for HC family members according to [HC Leaders covenant], rather than on the guilt or burden of non-compliance. Fourth, HC is spreading worldwide and becoming global. I was grateful to hear that the Globalization team has been organized, and HC is conducting a multilingual and multicultural background. Fifth, Rev. Soogwan Lee suggested that ministers prepare for retirement well by buying a house, investing in an IRA, and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. I am also convinced that I need to start preparing little by little. Sixth, there is a new addition to Bible study [Life of Assurance]. The seventh is about the Baptismal Pool. Many Presbyterian churches in Korea and America started giving baptism in an immersion Baptism in the Bible(an act of submerging the entire body into the water). So a Baptism in a pool may give more grace and a more realistic experience. Also, the Immersion Baptism can be more Biblical.
