우리들 이야기

1년에 한번씩 각 목장을 방문하는 목적은 성도님들이 평소에 성경이나 신앙생활이나 교회에 대한 궁금한 것에 대해 답을 해 드리는 것입니다.  또 삶의 상황을 듣고 기도해 드리고, 필요하면 담임목사로서 격려를 해 드리기 위함입니다. 금년에 제가 목장을 방문하면 목장식구들에게 구원의 확신은 있는지, 신앙이 성장하고 있는지, 그리고 실천과 헌신은 어떻게 할 것인지를 제가 질문합니다. 첫째 구원의 확신을 답할 때에는 구원을 받기 전에 기독교와 교회에 대해 어떻게 생각하고 어떻게 살았는지, 어떻게 예수님을 믿게 되었는지의 과정을 성경에 근거해서 말하고, 그리고 마지막으로 믿고 난 다음에 어떻게 생각이나 삶이 바뀌었는지를 정리해서 말하도록 도와드립니다.  두번째는 2-3년 전과 지금의 믿음이 자라고 있는지, 그대로인지, 아니면 약해지고 있는지를 생각해 보고 답을 달라고 부탁합니다. 세 번째는 언제 목자로 헌신할 것인지를 묻습니다. 우리교회에 오래 다니신 분 중에서 목자로 헌신했다가 사역을 멈춘 분들도 있고, 어떤 분들은 오래 교회를 다니지만 한 번도 교회 사역에 참여한 적이 없는 분들도 있습니다. 

이번에 제가 목장을 방문할 때에, 이런 분들에게 언제 어떻게 헌신을 해볼 것인지를 묻습니다. 예수님께서는 ‘나는 선한 목자다. 양들을 위해 목숨을 주고 섬기기 위해 왔다.’라고 말씀하셨습니다. 그리고는 ‘나를 본 받는 자가 되라.’고 하셨습니다. 우리의 기도, 예배, 직장생활, 대화, 삶의 목적은 예수님의 성품과 예수님의 사역을 본받는 것이라야 합니다. 특히, 우리교회는 실제로 다른 영혼을 섬기고 제자를 만드는 가정교회로서 목자라는 사역의 현장이 있습니다. 어떤 분은 목자가 되려면 성경 전체를 여러번 읽고, 교회도 오래 다니고, 신앙이 뜨거워야한다고 오해를 합니다. 그렇지 않습니다. 예수님을 믿고 구원받은 사람은 누구나 헌신해야 하는데, 목자가 되는 것이 가장 좋은 방법 중의 하나입니다. 예수님을 영접하고 세례를 받은지 4개월이 된 분이 목자가 된 경우도 있는데, 잘 모르기 때문에 그대로 순종해서 사역을 잘 했습니다. 당장에는 목자가 되어 영혼들을 맡아서 섬길 자신이 없으면, 예비 목자가 되십시요. 예비 목자는 아직 준비는 안 되었지만 언젠가 목자가 되기위해 한달에 한번씩 목장을 인도하고, 목자의 사역을 배우는 것입니다. 섬김의 기쁨을 맛보십시요 ! 

The purpose of the annual HC visit is to have a time for a Q&A session about the Bible, Christian life, and the church for our church members. Also, I used that visit as an opportunity to listen to you, pray for you, and encourage you as needed, as a senior pastor of the church. I ask personally if our church family members are assured of salvation and growing in the faith. Further, I ask how our church members would practice and commit to the ministry. Then I help them to state how they thought of Christianity and the church, how they lived their life before they received salvation. Also, I guide them to state how they come to believe in Jesus Biblically, and then finally, I organize a statement on how their thought and life changed after they believed in Jesus. Second, I encourage them to give me an honest answer about their faith- compared to 2-3years ago, is their faith growing, staying the same, or shrinking? Third, I ask them when they are going to commit to serving as HC leader. Some of our church members stop serving as HC leaders after years of service. Some of our church members never participated in a church ministry despite a long year of church attendance. 

I ask those members to consider how and when to serve the church whenever I visit our HCs. Jesus said, “I am the good shepherd. I came to lay down my life for the sheep.” Further, we were told to ‘follow my example.’ To follow Jesus’ character and His ministry-this is the purpose of our prayer, worship, and life. Especially, our church has the ministry field of HC leader who serves other souls and makes them disciples. Some may perceive it as wrong that they are required to read the whole Bible multiple times, attend church for a long time, and have passionate faith to become an HC leader. It is not so. Whoever believes in Jesus and has received salvation must dedicate their lives; one of the best ways to do so is to become a HC leader. One of the church members became the HC leader 4 months after receiving Jesus and being baptized. She didn’t know it well, so she did well by obeying. If you think you are not ready to be a HC leader to serve and take care of souls, please be a HC leader reserve. Reserve HC leaders is those who are not ready yet, but they will be the HC leaders in the future, learning HC leader’s ministry by leading HC once a month. Feel the joy of serving!
