전통적인 교회에서 20여년을 목회자로 사역을 했습니다. 그렇게 배운 담임 목회는 교회의 크고 작은 의미있는 사역을 다 하는 것입니다. 그런데 2010년에 가정교회 세미나를 다녀와서 배운 담임목사의 역할은 성경적이고 명확합니다. (엡4:11 그가 혹은 사도로, 혹은 선지자로, 혹은 복음 전하는 자로, 혹은 목사와 교사로 주셨으니 12 이는 성도를 온전케 하며 봉사의 일을 하게 하며 그리스도의 몸을 세우려 하심이라.) 즉, 담임목사는 자신의 은사로 사도같이 개척과 선교하든지, 선지자처럼 사회정의를 외치든지, 전도에 집중하든지, 성경 교사로 가르침에 집중할 수도 있겠지만, 가장 본질적인 역할은 성도를 온전하게 하여 봉사의 일을 하게 하고 그리스도의 몸된 교회를 세우는 것입니다. 성도를 온전하게 하기 위해 [삶공부 시리즈]를 가르치고, 설교를 하고, 교회 식구들을 위해 기도를 하고, 필요할 때는 병원과 가정과 일터에 방문을 합니다. 

성도가 할 봉사란 청소하는 봉사만을 뜻하지 않고, 영어에서 사역(ministry)를 하는 것입니다. 즉, 성도가 할 일이 심방, 목양, 설교, 상담등의 의미있는 사역을 하는 것입니다. 그리고 교회를 세운다는 것은 목장 모임을 인도하고, VIP전도를 하고, 심방을 하고, 같이 운동하고 식사를 하고, 목장에서 15분 성경공부나 확신의 삶 등을 가르치고, 교회의 재정, 새가족, 선교, 공동체, 주일학교 교육, 관리, 찬양 등의 사역을 하여 교회가 든든히 서도록 하는 것입니다. 가정교회에서 구체적으로 성도를 훈련하는 방법이 토요 새벽기도회 설교, 삶공부나 세례나 세미나후 간증을 하는 것입니다. 이를 더욱 잘 하도록 훈련하기 위해 설교문과 간증문을 미리 담임목사가 받아서 수정할 부분을 알려주어 더욱 인정받는 리더가 되도록 해 주는 것입니다. 그래서 성경대로 해보려고 여러분에게 사역을 해보라고 권하고 간증문과 설교문을 수정해 드립니다.

 I have been serving as a pastor in traditional churches for over 20 years. What I learned in traditional church is this- the senior pastor does the most meaningful ministries, big and small, in the church. However, what I learned from the HC seminar in 2010 about the role of a senior pastor is biblical and clear. (Ephesians 4:11 So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, 12 to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up.) This means that senior Pastors may start a church like the apostles, call for social justice like the prophets, focus on evangelism, or put their energy into teachings like the teachers. But the essence of what a senior pastor is to make the members of the church whole and equipping them for works of service so that they build the church, the body of Christ. The senior pastor teaches [living life bible study series], preaches sermons, prays for church family members, visits the hospital, visits home, and visits their workplace as required. The senior pastor does all of this in order to equip our church members, Work of service for church members is not just limited to cleaning or other services that may needed in the church. But it is to do the ministry. 

In other words, the role of church members is to do meaningful ministry like visits, caring, sermons, and/or counseling. Also, the church members must build the church strong which means members lead the HC, evangelize VIPs, visit their homes, exercise together with VIPs, eat together with VIPs, teach Bible study or "life of assurance" Bible study for 15 minutes or so, conduct ministry in the church budget, do ministry in newcomers, do ministry in mission, care the church community, teach in Sunday school, do the maintenance in church facilities, praise in the praise team, etc. House church can even train church members in greater detail; by training shepherds to be a speaker for Saturday early morning prayer meeting and sharing their testimony after living life Bible study or attending a seminar. To facilitate this training, the senior pastor receives their sermon and testimony prior to the event, proofreads and helps them edit as needed. The senior pastor does this so that church members become more recognized leaders. That is why I ask you to do what the Bible says and help you write and draft testimony and sermon.
