Let me introduce Pastor Michelle Oh. Since last month, she has begun her ministry at Harvest Church, serving college students and missions. Harvest Church and Vision Church are inseparably connected as one body. That is why, whenever a new pastor begins ministry, we invite them to preach so that everyone can get to know who they are. For reference, Pastor Michelle Oh is both well-known and highly gifted. In fact, Pastor DL “scouted” her, and when he found out she was coming to our church, he was so excited and proud that he couldn't stop talking about it. As we have great expectations for her ministry, I ask that you pray for her, treat her to meals, and offer help whenever needed. Here is how Pastor Oh introduced herself. When I was 6 years old, I accepted Jesus Christ as my Savior while my family was living in Indonesia. My dad taught at a theological seminary there, and both my parents were actively involved in discipleship ministry.
Prayer and the Word were central aspects of life during my childhood, and the first stories I remember are from the Bible. At the beginning of high school, my family moved from Indonesia to Colorado. It was a difficult move for my family because we loved our life and ministry in Indonesia. That summer was the first time I truly accepted Jesus as Lord of my life. Although I had grown up in a ministry family, I was reluctant to enter full-time ministry. While attending Biola University, I had the opportunity to join a short-term missions trip to China. It was on that trip that God asked me if I would be willing to answer his call to full-time ministry. Since graduating from college, I have had the privilege of serving in pastoral ministry in Colorado and Maryland, primarily in education ministry for youth and children. God has given me a passion for seeing people discover their calling and place in his mission. And I am so thankful to now be here at Harvest Church with the opportunity to share life with the church family here, especially the college students. Please pray for our college summer fellowship (for students to encounter Christ and grow to love him) and for preparations for our short-term missions trip to Ecuador in August (for encouragement and refreshment for our missionaries in Ecuador).
