우리들 이야기

우리 교회는 영혼 구원하여 제자 삼는 신약교회를 회복하는 가정교회에 집중합니다. 가정교회에서 가장 중요한 세축으로 첫째 목장(가정교회) 삶을 솔직히 나누고 사랑을 실천하여 사람의 정적인 필요를 채워주고, 둘째 주일 목장 연합예배는 간증과 구체적인 말씀과 살아 계신 하나님을 만남을 통해 의지적인 면을 채워주고, 그리고 영적인 성장의 단계별로 그리고 다양한 목적으로 잘 구성된 삶공부는 지적인 사람의 욕구를 채워줍니다. 1년에 한번 담임목사로서 목장을 탐방을 하는 목적이 있습니다. 첫째는 목자 부부를 위한 것입니다. 담임목사가 목자들의 목회를 실제로 보고 격려하기 위함입니다. 많은 목자들이 잘 하고 있지만 자신은 부족하다고 늘 생각하는 분도 있어 계속 격려를 해 드립니다. 또한 구체적인 목장 목회에서 도움이 될 만한 지혜도 나누어 드립니다. 시간을 지키는 것, 간식을 준비하거나 모임 장소로 집을 제공하는 것 등에 대해 목자가 하기 힘든 말도 제가 해 드립니다. 

둘째는 목장 식구들을 위한 것입니다. 특히 VIP(믿음이 아직 없는 분)들은 목장에는 오지만 교회에 오지 않은 분들이 많습니다. 그런 경우에 담임목사가 방문하여 그분들이 가진 기독교에 대한 오해나 궁금한 점들에 대해 답을 드립니다. 매년 목장 방문을 마치면 VIP가 세례를 받는 열매를 보면서 목장 방문의 중요성을 느낍니다. 또한 믿음이 있는 목장 식구들이 담임목사에 대해 가진 궁금한 개인적인 질문이나 교회의 방향과 성경에 대한 질문들에 대해서도 답을 드립니다. 목장 방문을 통해 목장 식구들의 기도제목을 실제로 들음으로 제가 자세한 내용을 이해하고 공감하며 기도할 수 있었습니다. 그동안 재미있는 질문과 의미있는 질문들도 많았습니다. ‘남목사님이 마지막 뽀뽀하신 때는 언제인가요?’, ‘교회는 왜 꼭 예수님을 믿어야 천국에 간다라고 하나요?’, ‘외계인은 정말로 있나요?’, ‘은사를 알고 사용하고 싶은데 잘 모르겠어요.’라는 다양한 질문들이 있었습니다. 목장 탐방은 담임목사가 더 개인적으로 성도님과 소통할 수 있는 좋은 기회라서 참 좋습니다. 두 가지만 기억해 주시기 바랍니다. 목자님은 질문과 할 이야기를 목장 식구들에게 미리 준비시키세요. 목장 모일 장소를 가능하면 VIP나 초신자 가정으로 하고 집에 가는 방법을 구체적으로 제게 알려주세요. 제가 길을 잘 못 찾는 것 아시죠? 

Our church put our utmost effort into HC that restores the New Testament church of saving souls and making disciples. There are three important pillars of HC-1. filling the emotional needs of others by sharing life honestly and practicing love 2. Recharging motivational needs throughout HC combined Sunday services by sharing personal testimony on specific word application and experiencing God in life 3. Filling people’s desire for knowledge throughout a well-organized living life bible study for specific topics based on spiritual growth levels. There is a reason why I do individual HC visits once a year as a senior pastor. First, it is for HC leader couples so that I can see my own eyes and encourage them as a senior pastor. I continue to promote HC leaders of all the great things they have done, because many HC leaders feel like they should have done more despite all the great things they have accomplished. Also, I share some specific know-how and wisdom that may help their HC ministry. I sometimes address some difficult conversations that need to be addressed with HC members-preparing food, being on time, offering a house for HC meetings, etc. 

The second reason I visit HCs is for HC members. Especially, many VIPS (those who don’t have faith yet) may not come to church, but they come to HC meetings. If that is the case, I will answer their questions and clear up some misunderstandings about Christianity as a senior pastor during my visit. Every year, I witness some VIPs getting baptized upon the completion of HC visits. That makes me realize how important it is to make a visit to HCs. Also, I answer some personal questions about the senior pastor, questions related to the Church vision, and questions about the Bible. I could pray for my HC members with a better understanding and sympathy after listening to their prayer requests firsthand during the visit. Let me share some fun and thoughtful questions that I got during the visit. “When was the last time that you kissed?’, ‘Why does the church say we have to believe in Jesus to go to Heaven?’, ‘Are aliens real?’, ‘I am not sure how to know and use my talent.’ I really love HC visits because it is a great opportunity for me to more personally communicate with my church members. Please remember 2 things. For HC leaders, please prepare questions and what to talk about prior to the visit. Please make the best effort to have an HC meeting at the VIP/newcomer house and let me know how to get there in greater detail. You all know that I am not good with directions, right?
