우리들 이야기

Epic청년을 중심으로 주일 오후 2시에 3부 예배를 드렸었습니다. 3부 예배를 드리는 장점은 청년들 만의 예배시간이 있어서 찬양팀도 있고, 설교도 청년에 맞게 약간 수정을 했고, 청년들이 늦게 일어나서 오후 2시에 교회에 와도 되는 것이었습니다. 단점은 어른들과 한 공동체라는 느낌이 들지 않고 격리되었으며, 청년들이 교회 사역에 참여할 수 없었고, 3부는 30여명 모였기 때문에 예배의 분위기가 약간 채워지지 않는 것 같았습니다. 또, 늦게 모이기 때문에 예배를 마치고 식사를 하면, 4시가 되어 바로 1시간 30분을 운전해서 학교나 아파트로 돌아가야 만했지요.  많은 기도와 고민을 한 끝에 11월 한달 동안 2부에 청년들이 다 참여해 보도록 하였습니다. 1시간 30분을 운전을 해서 오는 청년들이 아침에 일어나서 주일 오전 예배에 참석할 수 있는지, 오후 시간을 잘 활용해서 예배 후에 청년들끼리 모여 체육활동이나 기도모임 등을 할 수 있을지 보려는 것이었습니다. 

그리고 지난 주일(4일) 청년들과 목자들이 모여서 11월 한달 간의 경험을 나누었습니다.  결론은, 3부 예배를 따로 모이지 않는 것입니다. 청년들이 2부 예배에도 잘 참석했고, 또 많은 교회 식구들이 같이 찬양하고 예배하여 은혜를 느꼈고, 다른 사람을 더 자신있게 전도할 수 있다고 합니다. 다른 목장 식구들과 한 교회 한 가족이라는 느낌이 들고, 교사나 찬양대 같은 다른 사역에 동참할 수 있어서 좋다고 합니다. 가장 염려했던 시간에 대한 것도, 일찍 얼어 나서 운전해서 오면, 오후 시간에 올랜도 근처에서 더 시간을 잘 보낼 수 있어 좋았다고 합니다.  앞으로, 청년들이 수적으로 영적으로 부흥하는 과정이기 때문에, 더 관심을 가지고 기도하고 좋은 계획을 세워서, 내년에도 더욱 많은 형제자매들이 예수님의 제자로 세워지도록 함께 노력하는 것이 필요합니다.

Every week we have a third worship service at 2:00 PM on Sundays, mainly for our young adult group, Epic. The advantage of having a third service was to have a worship time only for the young people, so they could independently have their own praise team, and the sermons could be slightly modified to fit their generation, and for the younger generation could wake up later and come to church at 2:00 pm. The downside was that they didn't feel like they had a community with our adults. The young adults could not participate in the church's ministry, and the atmosphere of worship seemed a little unfulfilled because about 30 people gathered. Since we gathered so late, when we had fellowship after worship, some had to drive 1 hour and 30 minutes right back to school home late in the afternoon. After a lot of prayer and consideration, we decided to have all the young people participate in the second service for the month of November. It was to see if the young people could wake up, attend the Sunday morning service, and make good use of the afternoon time to gather after the service for prayer meetings or other activities. 

And last Sunday (December 4th), young people and shepherds gathered to share their experiences in November. The conclusion was not to have the 3rd worship service any longer. The Epic group's attendance did not drop, many felt the grace of worshiping and praising together, and they said they were able to evangelize others more confidently. They said that they felt more like a family with other HC members and that they are happy to be able to participate in other ministries such as SC and choir. Regarding the time, they said that it was good that they could spend more time near Orlando in the afternoon. In the future, since Epic is in the process of revival in numbers and spirituality, it is necessary to pray with more interest, make good plans, and work together so that more brothers and sisters will be raised as disciples of Jesus from next year!
