우리들 이야기

직장생활이나 공부를 오래하게 되면, 실력과 경험이 쌓입니다. 한 가지 장사를 오래해도 사업을 잘 하는 방법을 터득합니다. 마찬가지로 신앙생활도 오래하다보면 배우고 경험하는 것들이 많습니다. 그런데 오래한 사람들이 기억해야 할 것은 ‘자기개발’을 멈추지 말아야 한다는 것입니다. 무엇을 하든지 새로운 기술과 정보와 기계들이 있기 때문이고, 사람들의 생각이나 문화가 계속해서 바뀌기 때문입니다. 3가지 분야에서 자기개발을 계속해야 됩니다. 첫째, 영적인 자기개발입니다. 이전의 경험이나 배운성경 공부에 멈추지 말고, 우리교회에서 제공하는 삶공부를 1년에 하나 꼭 들어서 영적 지식을 계속 채우거나, 지금까지 매일 기도시간이 10분이었다면 20분으로 늘여서 영적 자기개발을 해야 합니다. 또, 예수님의 성품과 사역을 닮아가고 있는지, 성령의 열매 중에서 약한 부분이 없는지 돌아보고, 쌓아둔 죄가 없는지 항상 자신을 살피고, 성령의 인도함을 받는 훈련을 계속해야 합니다. 

영적 성장과 개발이 멈추면 안됩니다. 바울은 평생 경주하듯이 예수님을 닮는 영적 자기 개발을 위해 훈련했다고 고백했습니다. 둘째, 은사개발입니다. 하나님께서 주신 재능과 은사가 모든 사람들에게 하나 이상이 있습니다. 행정, 상담, 선교, 가르침, 중보기도 등. 그런데 어떤 사람은 은사가 있는지도 모른채 삽니다. 은사와 재능은 하나님 나라를 위해 다른 사람에게 사랑을 실천할 기회를 주신 것입니다. 은사를 무시하지도 말고, 찾고 개발하여 열매를 맺기 바랍니다. 좋은 소식은, 없던 은사도 구하고 연습하여 받을수도 있다는 것입니다. 그래서 공동체의 유익을 위해 사용하세요. 셋째, 전인건강을 위한 자기개발입니다. 어떤 성격인지, 정신적인 문제가 없는지, 집착하는 상처가 있는지, 몸의 건강을 위해 운동은 규칙적으로 하는지, 병원을 잘 방문하는지를 점검하고, 부족한 부분을 연습하고 새로운 것을 찾아서 전인건강을 유지하는 겁니다.  

 You will accumulate skills and experience as you work in the company for a long time or study for a long time. You also increase your business skills if you operate one business for a long time. The same applies to our Christian life, you will accumulate lessons and experiences as you live a Christian life for a long time. Those who commit a significant amount of time to one task must remember this, they should not stop self-development. It is all because there are constant changes no matter what you do- it could be new technology, information, and/or tools that bring the changes. Furthermore, culture and our way of life change constantly. We must focus on self-development in three main areas. First, Spiritual Self Development. We must not dwell on past experiences or Bible study we learned years ago. We must continue our self-development by filling up our spiritual knowledge with the Life Bible study series that our Church offers at least once a year. You can also continue on spiritual self-development by increasing daily prayer time, if it is 10 minutes, challenge yourself with 20 minutes of daily prayer. Also, we must look back at ourselves to see if we resemble Jesus in His character and His ministry. Also, we must check on what we are lacking in spiritual fruits, check on us to see if we have any sins not resolved yet, but continue to train on receiving guidance from the Holy Spirit. 

We must not stop our spiritual growth and spiritual development. Paul once confessed that he trained for spiritual self-development to be more like Jesus as if he ran for the race. Second, Talent Development. There is at least one talent and/or gift that God gave to us. It could be administration, counseling, mission, teaching, prayer, etc. However, some live without knowing their talent. God gave gifts and talent to provide us with opportunities to practice the love of another for the kingdom of God. Please don't overlook your talents and gifts but find them and develop them so that those talents and gifts may result in fruition. The Good news is we may receive talent and gifts that we don't have previously by prayer and practice. If you receive one, please use it for the goodness of the community. Third, holistic health self-development. We continue to assess ourselves over our personality traits, mental health issues, and obsession deep within over particular lingering wounds. Also, we must assess to see if we exercise and visit the hospital regularly. We must maintain holistic health by training what we are lacking and finding out what is needed.
