우리들 이야기

그리스도인은 우리 신앙이 목표이신 예수님을 닮아가려고 계속 노력해서 성장하고 성숙해야 하는데, 이것을 ‘영성’이라 합니다. (엡4:13)  그러면 구체적으로 어떻게 개인적으로도 예수님을 닮아가는 노력으로서 영성관리를 할수 있을까요? 제일 먼저 떠오르는 성경구절은 포도나무비유입니다. (요15:7 너희가 내 안에 머물러 있고, 내 말이 너희 안에 머물러 있으면, 너희가 무엇을 구하든지 다 그대로 이루어질 것이다. 8 너희가 열매를 많이 맺어서 내 제자가 되면, 이것으로 내 아버지께서 영광을 받으실 것이다.) 즉, 참 포도나무되신 주님께 우리가 잘 붙어 있으면, 저절로 열매를 맺게 됩니다. 주님 안에 있고 주님께 잘 붙어 있다는 말은 주님의 말씀을 배우고 읽고 실천하는 삶과, 주님께 감사하고 회개하고 구하는 기도하는 삶을 통해서 가능합니다. 마치 나무의 가지가 어릴 수록 또는 클 수록 더 영양분이 원줄기 나무로부터 더 필요한 것처럼, 말씀을 사모하고 필사적으로 받으려는 간절함이 필요합니다. 하나님과 더 친하게 지내기 위한 기도의 시간이 필요합니다. 이를 위해 제가 하는 것은 매일 아침에 일어나자 마자 스마트폰이나 뉴스를 보기전에 잠시 큐티(아침에 기도하고 성경읽고 찬양하는 것)를 합니다. 

먼저 짧게 성령께서 저에게 말씀을 깨닫게 해달라고 기도한 후에  아이패드로 [생명의 삶 큐티] 웹사이트에 들어가서 성경본문을 읽고 그날에 나에게 주시는 하나님의 말씀으로 받으려고 집중해서 읽고 묵상(반복해서 성경의 깊은 의미를 생각하는 것)을 합니다. 그리고 그 말씀대로 내가 하루를 살고, 가족과 교회 식구들이 살게 해 달라고 기도합니다. ‘큐티하지 않는 날은 밥을 먹지 않겠다’라는 각오로 합니다. 두번째는 기도생활입니다. 같은 시간과  같은 장소에서 기도하는 것이 좋은데, 예를 들면, 매일 저녁 9시 거실에서 기도하기 입니다.  기도는 살아계신 하나님 아버지께 하고 싶은 회개, 감사, 찬양, 간구를 편하게 하면 됩니다. 영적으로 갈급하거나 시험에 든 분은 대부분은 이런 기본적인 말씀과 기도생활이 없기 때문입니다. 이렇게 개인적인 시작된 기도와 말씀이 확인되고 훈련되고 연습하고 실천하는 곳이 교회와 목장모임입니다. 매주마다 꾸준히 모이고 연습해야 꾸준히 영성관리가 됩니다. 사랑하는 비전교회 형제자매님들이 이 기본적인 말씀과 기도, 그리고 공동체 연습인 목장과 교회모임을 통해서 영성관리에 성공하고 따듯하고 행복한 그리스도인이 되시기 바랍니다.  

As a Christian, we are called to continually grow and mature so that we may achieve our goal in faith, be more like Jesus. This is what we call 'Spirituality.' (Ephesians 4:13) If that is so, how can we individually and specifically manage our spirituality as our on-going effort to be more like Jesus? First thing that came to my mind is a parable of a vine tree (John 15:7 "If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.8. This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples." This means, we will bear our fruit naturally as long as we remain firmly in our Lord who is our true vine tree. Remaining in our Lord well means that we learn His Words, and live by His Words. This also is possible when we live our life of thanksgiving, repentance, and prayers. As branches depend more on the vine for its nutrient, no matter how thick or small branches are, we must strive to learn God's Word wholeheartedly, desiring to receive it more. We need time to pray to God to maintain a close relationship with God. One thing I do to help me with this is to have a morning QT Time (this is my morning routine of prayer, reading Bible, and praise to God) before I use my phone to scroll news feeds. 

First, I pray to the Holy Spirit to give me an understanding of the Words of God and then I read a [Living Life QT] session. After that, I focus and meditate (repeatedly read and ponder upon the meaning of the Bible verse) so that I may receive the Words of God for that day. And then I pray that I may live my life according to the Words, so do my family members and church members. I made a commitment not to eat before I do my QT for that day. Second, is a life of Prayer. It is good if you can pray at a designated time and place, like 'pray in my living room at 9 PM.' Prayer is to talk freely to Living God about your regret, thanksgiving, praise, and ask. Most of the time some people are struggling spiritually or having spiritual issues because they don't have a basic routine of Bible reading and prayer in their daily life. The place where you practice and live the life of prayer and Word God is weekly HC. You can manage your spirituality continually if you can attend your HC regularly. My prayer is that every member of Vision Church brothers and sisters to successfully have spiritual discipline throughout weekly HC with routine Bible reading and prayer so that all of us become a Christian with warmth and happiness.
