우리들 이야기

매주마다 우리교회에 방문자와 등록자가 있습니다. 그 중에 이미 예수님을 믿는 분들도 있지만 절반 이상은 예수님을 믿지 않거나, 교회를 다녀본 적이 있어도 영접한 적도 없거나 구원의 확신이 없는 분(VIP)입니다. 교회에 새로운 분이 왔을 때 현재 우리교회에서 목장에 소속되는 절차를 말씀드립니다. 첫째, 목장을 통하지 않고 교회에 방문한 분 중에서 믿음이 있는 분들은 가정교회 정신에 따라서 다른 교회에 가 볼 것을 먼저 권해 드립니다. 이미 믿음이 있으시니까 어느 교회를 가시더라도 신앙생활을 잘 하실 수 있는 근처 한인교회가 10개정도 있다는 점, 그리고 우리 교회 목장에서 이미 100명이 넘는 VIP분들을 섬기는데 에너지를 쓰고 있다는 점 때문입니다. 그리고, 가끔은 이런 분들 중에서도 영혼구원하여 제자만드는 교회에 헌신하고 싶어서 처음부터 다시 신앙생활 한다는 마음으로 이전의 직분을 내려놓고 다시 [생명의 삶], [새가족을 고넬료 공부], [예수님과 만남모임], [목장]에 참여하고 순종하는 등 4가지를 약속할 경우가 있습니다. 이럴 때는 당분간 비전교회에 익숙해지는 시간을 가진 후에 목장에 소속하도록 합니다. 가끔은, 혹은 목장의 돌봄이 절실히 필요하다고 판단되는 경우는 목자와 의논해서 목장에 소속이 됩니다. 

둘째, 믿음이 있는 분이 비전교회 가족이나 목장을 통해서 교회에 오게 되면 해당 목장에 소속이 됩니다. 하지만, 위에서 말한 4가지를 하기로 약속을 해야 합니다. 셋째, 믿음이 없는 VIP분이 목장을 통해서 오면 당연히 그 목장으로 우선 소속됩니다. 넷째, 믿음이 없는 VIP분이 스스로 온 경우는 나이, 지역, 관계, 직업 등을 고려해서 전체적인 목장의 상황을 알고 있는 제가 적절한 목자와 의논한 후에 목장에 연결해 드립니다. 이런 결정은 이미 우리 교회에서 20여년 동안의 가정교회 영성으로 자리 잡은 것입니다. 그래서 목자님과 목장 식구들이 주의 할 것은, 새로운 분이 교회에 왔다고 목장 모임에 절대 바로 초대하시면 안됩니다. 그 이유는 서로 간의 필요없는 오해나 경쟁심과 같은 마음을 악한 영들이 줄 수 있기 때문입니다. 가정교회는 믿음이 없는 사람, 도움이 필요한 사람, 하나님이 필요한 사람인 VIP를 섬겨서 영혼 구원하여 제자를 만드는 것이 가장 중요하기 때문입니다. 그렇지 않으면, 숫자만 늘리거나, 관리하는데 모든 에어지를 다 쓰게 되어, 정말 하나님이 필요한 영혼구원을 위해서 섬기지 못하게 됩니다. 우리는 다 하나님의 나라를 위한 동역자입니다. 지금 계속 청년목장이나 성인목장에서 영접과 세례가 있는 것도, 우리가 함께 동역하고 기도하고 섬기기 때문에 가능한 것이며, 우리는 천국의 기쁨을 같이 나누는 것입니다. 

We have newcomers and newly registered members every week. Some of those newly members believed in Jesus before. However, most of them are VIPs- those who didn’t believe in Jesus before or didn’t have an assurance in salvation despite having attended church previously. Let me share the process of how we assign our new members to a HC. First, we encourage newcomers with faith to attend the other churches first as per guiding principles of HC if they have a faith and didn’t join our church through the HC. Rationale behind this is- they do have faith so they can do well no matter which church they go to amongst 10 other Korean churches in the region. Also, our HCs are focusing our efforts in serving over 100 VIPs. At times, however, a person with prior faith may express a sincere desire to commit to our church’s mission of saving souls and making disciples. If that person is willing to begin anew in faith, set aside previous positions or titles, and complete four curriculums of [living life Bible Study]. [Cornelius Newcomer Bible Study], [Meeting with Jesus Meeting], and HC commitment. If this is the case, we may give them some time to adjust and settle in the church. And then assign them to a HC. Sometimes, if we determine there is a need for immediate and special care, we assign that person to a HC after discussing with HC leader. Second, if a believer comes to the church through a HC, we assign that person to that HC. 

However, they must agree to complete the previous 4 curriculums. Third, those without previous faith, or VIP, come to the church through a HC, we assign the VIP to that HC automatically. Fourth, if a VIP comes to our church on his or her own, we assign that person to a HC based on age, location, relationship, occupation, and other factors after discussing with HC leaders. These criteria are based on our spiritual standard and practice, generated from 20 years of our HC spirituality. So what I ask our HC leaders and HC members is to invite newcomers directly to your HC meetings. It is to prevent any unwanted interruption from evil spirits like unnecessary misunderstandings, competition, or hurt feelings among groups. Our highest priority is to serve VIPs—those who do not yet believe, those who need help, and those who need God—so that we may save their souls and make them disciples. If we don’t do this, we are not focusing our efforts on what God really wants us to do-saving souls, exhausting our energy in increasing just church seats and managing people. We are all partners for God’s Kingdom. We continue to see accepting Jesus as the Lord and baptisms in both our young adult and adult HCs because we pray, serve, and work together. We are sharing Heavenly Joy together.
