우리들 이야기

2025년을 시작한 것이 어제 같은데 벌써 5월이 끝나고 있습니다. 금년의 우리교회의 모토는 ‘재충전’입니다. 특별히 작년에 많은 교회 일정으로 열심히 하나님의 나라를 위해 헌신했는데, 금년에는 계획하지 않은 행사는 하지 않고 말씀과 기도로 재충전을 하려는 것입니다. 지금까지 총 3번의 찬양집회 요청과 계획하지 않은 목회자의 설교 요청도 정중히 사양했습니다. 하지만 꼭 해야할 일이 있다면 계획하지 않은 일도 해야 되겠지요. 5개월 동안 재충전하며 따라와준 형제자매님들께 감사를 드리며 후반기에 계획된 교회의 대략적인 주요 일정을 알려드립니다. 6월 한 달 동안은 어린이 성경학교와 비전캠프가 매년 하던 대로 진행됩니다. 6월30일-7월3일에는 중고등부 교단 수련회가 있고, 7월 10-12일에 목자컨퍼런스가 휴스턴에 있는데 우리 교회에서 약 20명 정도 참여합니다. 7월 21-24일까지 엘에이에서 NewGen 목자컨퍼런스가 있는데 약 35명이 참여합니다. 

8월 5-10일에 우리 교회에서 목회자를 위한 가정교회 세미나가 있습니다. 8월 12일부터는 후반기 삶공부들을 개강합니다. 8월 29-9월1일까지 신동일 목사님을 강사로 초청해서 가을 말씀잔치가 있고, 목자수련회는 시간을 따로 정해서 합니다. 아직 날짜가 정해지지는 않았지만, 9월 말과 10월 중에 [어린이 목장 사역자 세미나]를 계획하고 있습니다. 작년에는 우리교회에서 2월에 평신도를 위한 가정교회 세미나를 할 때에 이 세미나도 같이 했었는데, 작년 말부터 동일한 세미나를 휴스턴 서울교회에서 2월에 하게 되어, 우리가 금년 가을로 옮기게 된 것입니다. 교회 형제자매님들이 더욱 복음과 전도에 훈련되도록 하기 위해서 8-9월 2개월 동안 매주 토요일 1시간30분씩 초청전도 세미나를 하려고 합니다. 10월 6-16일까지는 세명씩 짝을 지어서 새벽에 기도하는 [세겹줄 기도회]를 합니다. 이외에도 늘 하던 기도회나 비전 지도자 훈련, 한국학교, 어와나, 목자부부면담 등이 있습니다. 청년을 위해 특별히 수련회와 캠퍼스사역 훈련을 11월 경에 해보려고 준비 중에 있습니다.

It is already the end of May, despite it seeming like 2025 has just started. Our church’s 2025 theme is “recharge.” Many church members were earnestly committed to many church events for the Kingdom of God last year. That is why we would like to recharge with prayer and the words of God, minimizing any unplanned events for this year. I have politely declined 3 unplanned event requests so far this year- a praise night event request and a guest speaker request from other churches. We would engage in those unplanned events if necessary. I would like to take the time to thank our brothers and sisters who followed the church's guidance of recharging for the past 5 months. I want to share our planned events for the second half of this year. As an annual event, we will host children's Vacation Bible School and Vision camp in the month of June. Presbytery-wide youth group retreat is scheduled from June 30- July 3. From July 10th to 12th, 20 of our members are scheduled to attend the HC leader's conference in Houston. About 35 of our church members will be attending the NewGen HC Leader’s Conference in LA from July 21- 24th. 

HC Seminar for pastors is scheduled from 05-10 August in our church. The 2nd half of the annual Life Bible studies will start on August 12. We invite a guest speaker, Rev. Eric Shin, for the fall revival service from 29 August to 1st September. We are going to schedule HC Leaders’ retreat during the second half of the year. We don’t have an exact date yet, but we are planning to host [Children HC leader seminar] sometime in late September or early October. Last year, we hosted a Children's HC leader seminar concurrently with the Lay Leader HC conference. Houston Seoul Church hosts the same seminar, which started last year, and that is why we moved to the fall. In August and September, we will host a 90-minute session of the City Evangelism Seminar every Saturday for two months to train our church brothers and sisters in sharing the Good News. Early morning Three-strands prayer with 3 people-groups is scheduled from 06-16 October. We still do our regular prayer meeting, vision leader’s training, Korean school, Awana, and HC leader couple 1:1 meeting. We are preparing for young adult group special retreat and campus ministry training, planning on or about in the month of November.
